Deaf Awareness Week 2014

Since this past Monday, House of Hearing has been observing Deaf Awareness Weak alongside the rest of the UK. Our aim has been to provide insterested customers with a free consultation and free hearing aid trial all week long. Youngest Cochlear Implant in UK for Evie Smith

Cochlear implants are providing hope for Jenny Harvey and Barrie Smith, the parents of newborn girl Evie.

Evie lost the ability to hear three days after she was born, when she contracted pneumococcal meningitis. The cochlear implants were given to Evie three months later, to the day.

Deaf Woman Hears for the First Time

A breaking story about a recent successful cochlear implant is trending all over the news, from the Telegraph to Facebook to BBC 6 Music. Jo Milne was born deaf; roughly 40 years later this week, the whole world is celebrating with her as she hears for the first time.
